It’s hard to believe it, but the leaves are turning color, frost is starting to appear on your vehicles as the mornings turn cooler, and you’re dusting off your boots tucked away in the back of your closet.  That’s right folks, fall is here to stay and before you know it, we’ll be chasing down turkeys and hanging up Christmas lights in no time.

Chris and I get so stressed when it comes to this time of year because in addition to everything we need to do to get ready for the holidays, we are always worried about sending out Christmas cards.  Which picture should we use?  Should we take new pictures?  If so, when should we take them?  And where should we take them?  We stress about this and before we know it, the opportunity to send cards has passed.

That’s why this year we’ve decided to make it easier for YOU!  Introducing Cindi+Chris’ first annual “Holla for the Holidays!”

We have set aside one day in early November (when the leaves are the most beautiful) at the Washington Park Arboretum for 30 minute mini sessions.  Weather-permitting, we’re planning for the 3rd, and are saving the 4th just in case weather doesn’t cooperate.

So come on down, spend a little time with us at the park, and knock out those holiday pictures!  Time slots are limited so email/facebook/tweet/messenger pigeon us to save your spot!

Chris and I are so excited to share some upcoming changes to our website and our blog.  We also have some great things planned for our bride and grooms which I hope will bring some tears of joy to our couples whom we enjoyed to work with so much.  Up first, Suryn+Shawn…so stay tuned for that.  But in the mean time, enjoy this beautiful sneak peek!

It is once again that time of the year.  Stores all across the country has already been stocking up and displaying Christmas decorations.  I swear, the older I get, the faster the holiday seasons come.  Every year during this time, I try to live my life at a slower pace to try to enjoy as much of the holidays as I can (as this is my favorite time of year) and to try to spend it with family.  This year though, Chris and I have decided to do something a little bit extra for those that need it.

A dear friend and old colleague of mine, Molly and her husband are active members of the Patrons of Cystic Fibrosis Guild.  Each year, the Guild hosts a gala that includes a silent and live auction to help raise money that help fund research towards finding a cure for this awful disease.  When Molly thought of Cindi+Chris Photography and asked us to donate our services, I was so thrilled and honored to have been asked.  There was no doubt in my mind…I wanted to help in any way I can and we’ve decided to donate an hour of our photography services to a deserving family/individual.  When I spoke to Molly some more, I found out that this disease affects many young children.  We’ll be honored to photograph anyone that wins our auction item, but it would be super special if a family that’s been affected by this disease received a chance to take holiday family pictures.  Chris and I hope to get more involved with this organization to help a chance to help more than just one person or one family.  Tis the season to pay it forward and this is a great way to start!

It’s been a crazy journey so far, and we’re so excited to be taking the next step.  If you’ve found yourself here on, or around, the day we’re writing this, chances are you’ve followed our Cindi+Chris antics, adventures, and musings separately on our respective Cindi and Chris blogs.  Despite the sheer volume of words we’ve written across the intertubes to date, no combination can quite express how much it has meant to us to meet such great people interested in what makes us … well, us.

A huge part of us has been photography, and as 2 people who do absolutely everything together, it only made sense for us to write about our passion together.  Our personal blogs will remain, so you’ll still see us journal there from time to time.  You’ll also find links to those blogs under the “Archives” menu, so we’ll be able to share our prior work with new friends.

And of course, what’s a new blog without a new website?!  We’re super pumped about our new portfolio page.  We’ll be making small tweaks and enhancements to both this blog and the new site, so let us know what you think and keep checking back for more.  We’ve got some awesome shoots we can’t wait to share with you!  In the meantime, we’ll be commemorating this milestone with a small independence-day-launch-party-bbq.  More to come!
