Bessie and I met in the office hallway at our previous jobs. I remember her walking towards me and honestly, I was a little intimidated. I knew she was beautiful and she walked with authority…as if she was on a mission…or very late for a meeting. As she approached closer, her face lit up with a huge smile and she said something to me, what exactly I forget, but it was something that made me smile and think, “what a nice person”! And that was how our friendship started.
Bessie was in town for a long term project and I felt like we hit it off immediately. It was pretty rare for me to believe that someone so stunning and beautiful on the outside, could be just as so on the inside. She and I talked about shopping, diamonds, and most importantly…designer jeans! Prior to meeting me, Bessie was a designer jean virgin! A sin indeed! She’s since converted and now owns somewhere in the vicinity of 15 pairs of designers!
Eventually Bessie had to return back to Chicago, her home town, but we never stopped staying in touch. Now five years later, we both left our old jobs, I got married, she got an MBA and is now running the most popular Bravoe Runway Blog. So when Chris and I were in Chicago this September, we just had to meet up with Bessie for a photoshoot. Bravoe Runway is a one stop shop for outfit inspiration, advice, and bargain shopping tips. I’m a daily reader and I hope you stop by to say hi to my wonderful, dear friend. Here’s a few highlights from our shoot.
This is one of my favorites from the shoot. How FIERCE is she!
Bag = LOVE!!! And look how great Bessie looks with it!
A natural...natural beauty!
The light was amazing right behind the Wrigley Building in downtown Chicago. We had to take advantage of it.
