Seattle Engagement Photography: Suryn+Shawn

Sunday, April 22nd, 2012

On a rainy winter Seattle night, Chris+I met up with Suryn+Shawn at a Seattle Starbucks to discuss their wedding in more detail.  I remember getting really amped up for the meeting because I was extremely excited about their wedding location.  This August, Suryn+Shawn will tie the knot in Leavenworth, WA at The Sleeping Lady resort.  Chris+I had previously shot a wedding here before and we just fell in love with this place.  However, after we talked and chatted over coffee with Suryn+Shawn, we fell in love with them even more.

We were definitely excited to work with Suryn+Shawn after postponing our initial shoot due to rain (Seattle…figures!).  They arrived at our first location, Pioneer Square, looking prim, cute, and super nervous.  And as luck would have it, the Sounder’s game had just let out.  Meaning…loads of people were walking around in the area.  It didn’t phase them though, and as these pictures show, they totally brought their A game.  There’s this vulnerability about Suryn that’s hard to describe in words.  But her eyes are fierce, her smile is mesmerizing so it’s no wonder Shawn is crazily in love.  And well…Shawn…I mean…just look at that smile!  These two made our job that day so easy, so we can’t be more excited to work with them again on their wedding day.  For now, take a peek at their engagement photos below.

Seattle Engagement Photography: Suzanne+John

Chris and I have known Suzanne for quite some time now.  Chris knows her more than I do because she was the first person to give him his big break right after college.  Yep…she gave him his first real job.  And I would have to tip my hat off to Suzanne as well because if she never gave Chris that chance, I would have never met him at work!  So you see, it felt only fitting for us to photograph Suzanne+John’s union because she was the one that first helped unite Chris+me.

Suzanne+John are truly meant to be, and deeply in love.  She’s a spunky Southern girl that (sorry Suzanne!) doesn’t always eat her vegetables.  And he’s a rugged (Daniel Craig look-a-like *wink wink*) football coach that will forever treat her like the Queen that she is.  They are tying the knot this June at the beautiful Salish Lodge in an intimate ceremony with their closest family and friends.  It was extremely important for Suzanne+John to have the people they care most be apart of their special day.  And we are humbled and extremely grateful that they’ve included us by giving us the gift of capturing their wedding.  We can’t wait for June…but in the meantime, enjoy this beautiful couple’s engagement photos!

Seattle Wedding Photography: Amy+Erik

I’ve never really appreciated the saying, “WOW, what a small world” until I met Amy+Erik.  Amy is a carefree bride that doesn’t sweat the small stuff.  Chris and I met her by way of her sister, Lauren, who wanted to purchase wedding photography for Amy as a wedding present (what a great sister, eh??).  So throughout the wedding planning process, we actually did not have a chance to meet Amy+Erik because we were mainly working through Lauren.  However, when we did finally meet, it didn’t take me long to recognize Erik.  It turns out, Erik and I attended part of college together more than…let’s say for the sake of keeping my age under wraps…ten years ago!  Seattle (and the world) is indeed small.

Not having to had a chance to get to know Amy more prior to her wedding, I didn’t know what to expect.  But immediately, she made me feel at ease.  As soon as Chris and I showed up on site, she asked us if we wanted to eat.  Now that’s my kind of girl!  Her ability to make people feel at ease infront of her without even really knowing her made me realize why Erik fell deeply in love with her at the speed of cats going after catnip!

Amy+Erik tied the knot in an intimate house with their closest family members.  I love weddings like this.  If I had to redo my wedding again, this would be how I would have it.  Amy+Erik pledged their love to each other infront of about 15 members of their immediate families and it’s weddings like these that really remind us why we love our jobs.  We had so much fun with the couple and can’t wait to meet with them again when we deliver their photos.  Yes, we miss them already…but for now, enjoy these!

Photographers always search for "that" look. You know what look I'm talking about? The twinkle in the eye and there it was right in Amy! Love!

First looks make me swoon!

The nicest store own in downtown Issaquah allowed us to go into her store and use the colorful hand glass work as the backdrop.

Seattle Wedding Photography – Shannon+Kevin

Sunday, September 4th, 2011

We first met Shannon+Kevin when we shot our first wedding.  You might remember SaraLeigh+Ryan from our old blog where Shannon+Kevin attended as guests.  When they contacted us about their own wedding, Chris and I were so thrilled and we wanted to make sure their special day was captured the way I would want it to be captured if it were my own wedding day.

It was probably one of the best Fridays we’ve had in Seattle.  The weather was a perfect high 70′s and as soon as the sun started to set, the party started to get livelier.  I love a wedding where all of the guests feel the music and all they want is to have a great time.  If you’re also one of those people, this was the place to be on a Friday night!  The best part was being on the dance floor with Shannon+Kevin’s parents!  At one point, Shannon’s dad took my camera and started to shoot some photos of me on the dance floor.  :)  Chris and I had SO much fun at their wedding and we wish that the newlywed continue to live their life with the same happiness and joy they felt on their wedding day.

Shannon+Kevin, it was such a pleasure to have been a part of your special day.  We hope you enjoy your slideshow and that it helps you relive some of the happiest moments!

Seattle Wedding Photography – Gina+Brian

Monday, July 25th, 2011

A few weeks prior to Gina+Brian’s nuptials, Chris and I started to feel extremely nervous for the event.  Maybe it wasn’t nerves, but excitement we were feeling.  Whatever it was, it made our hearts beat a little faster whenever we thought about their wedding.  Why you ask?  Well, you see, Gina+Brian were the first clients we’ve ever had…whom we’ve never met.  Up until their wedding day, we’ve only communicated by phone or email.  Brian first contacted us after speaking to his brother, Eric, who’s a friend of Chris’ and a co-worker of mine.  But when their wedding day finally arrived, Chris and I got up early to drive the 3 hours to Yakima, Washington, and while driving on the I-90…probably around exit 33, our nerves calmed and we were ready to help Gina+Brian document the happiest day of their lives.

Gina+Brian are one of those couples you meet and instantly realize they’re together for a reason.  They are both individually calm, cool, quiet, collected when they’re apart…but together they are the perfect vibrant pair.  When I first met Gina alone, I immediately saw her cute, quirky personality shine through.  Her fun, sweet side is the perfect match for Brian, who’s outer shell may seem to be all serious business at first, but it did not take long for his silly side to also poke through.  These two love birds wanted to share their wedding day with only the closest few family and friends.  It was an intimate affair I’m sure the couple will remember for years to come.  Chris and I feel extremely honored to have been there to document Gina+Brian’s intimate wedding day.  To have them trust us enough to allow us this opportunity truly meant a lot to us.

Gina+Brian, we hope you had a wonderful wedding day, honeymoon and now…enjoy your slideshow!

Seattle Wedding Photography – Karen+Josh

Monday, July 11th, 2011

A wedding day is usually a couple’s happiest day of their lives.  It’s a day when they can enjoy it for all its worth and is all about them.  For Karen+Josh, not only did they make their wedding day a celebration of their love, but really, they made it a celebration of close loved ones.  Every one of their closest family and friends arrived in Leavenworth Washington to share in the most happiest day of Karen+Josh’s lives.  Chris and I were so happy and honored to have enjoyed the weekend with the lovely couple and their loved ones that the pictures came effortlessly.

All of us stayed at the Sleeping Lady resort in Leavenworth in our private cabins.  We ate together, played together, and danced together the whole weekend.  The celebration continued into the wee hours of the wedding night where, after the reception, we all gathered around a fire pit to continue the good vibes.  It was like the best summer camp ever!  Chris and I made so many new friends and we could not have thanked Karen+Josh more.

Karen+Josh, congratulations!  Here’s to many, many more memorable nights to come!  For now, we hope you enjoy your wedding slideshow!

Love,

Cindi+Chris
